The oil is obtained from the seeds of the “Rosa A.Rubiginosa,” native to the Andes in South America and locally called Rosa Mosqueta. It is an oil with a light and soft texture. Its cosmetic characteristics are based on its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids with stimulating and repairing characteristics in skin physiological processes.
It is used to reduce wrinkles, to moisturize the skin and in the treatment of ulcers, wounds and abrasions. Several studies conducted in both Europe and the U.S. have shown excellent activity of Rosehip oil as a cellular regenerator and to prevent the outward signs of skin aging. It is great for preventing scars and marks left by acne and for regenerating mature and rough skin.
Rosehip oil can also be used effectively in the treatment of dry, brittle hair and in cases of brittle, dull nails. Use on mature, dry, reddened/inflamed, flaky, cracked skin; skin with psoriasis, rosacea, eczema, spots and scars (stretch marks); excellent on nails and cuticles.
