Sweet Almond oil, of long-standing reputation and extreme versatility, remains probably the best known and most widely used of the massage and dermocosmetic oils. It is obtained by pressing the ripe seeds of Prunus Amygdalus sweet variety, has a light yellow color and is odorless. Precisely because of the absence of a characteristic odor, this oil is suitable for any blend of essences as it is a good carrier and does not alter the scent. Highly unsaturated, emollient and refreshing. Completely free of irritant effects, it is used in a very wide range of hygiene and cosmetic products.
Although it cannot be considered a true medicinal oil, it is a good soother for mild skin irritations, redness and sunburn. Because of its easy absorption and softening action, it is also a good product to apply after bathing on dry skin that tends to peel.
It can be used on all skin types, especially dry, inelastic, sensitive and reddened skin, skin with dermatitis or psoriasis; it helps decrease itching and inflammation.
